Young Money Entertainment once again came out on top at the BET Awards. Last night during the 2014 ceremony in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre, YMCMB artists achieved a total of three awards in top categories.
Nicki Minaj upheld her red hot streak, winning “Best Female Hip-Hop Artist” for the fifth consecutive year in a row. It’s a testament to her raw talent and skill that she’s notched this honor yet again. Right now, hip-hop’s reigning queen is also prepping her mega-anticipated third full-length album, The Pink Print, for release later this year.
Meanwhile, Drake was crowned “Best Male Hip-Hop Artist”, rounding out another stellar year for the rap trailblazer. He’ll embark on 2014’s biggest hip-hop tour co-headlining with Lil Wayne on the Drake vs. Wayne Tour which starts on August 8th in Darien Center, New York.
In addition, Young Money received the award for “Best Group”. This proved to be a truly special accolade for the entire team, especially following the recent release of the label’s second collaborative album, Young Money: Rise of an Empire.
Cash Money Records Co-CEO Bryan “Birdman” Williams comments, “Young Money has become iconic because of each artist’s hard work, dedication, and talent. I’m so proud of Wayne for bringing his vision of the record label and team to life the way that he has. I want to congratulate Drake, Nicki Minaj and Young Money on their awards. They’ve risen to the top of the game, and I promise you the YMCMB Family won’t be stopping anytime soon.”
Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment extend sincere congratulations to all of 2014’s victors.
